A stay at Hidden Villa Hostel offers the quiet charm of country life
with easy access to the city lights of Silicon Valley. Founded by Josephine
and Frank Duveneck in 1937, our Hostel is the oldest operating hostel
in the United States. Uniquely situated on a 1,600-acre organic farm
and wilderness preserve in a tranquil valley at the base of the Santa
Cruz Mountain foothills, miles of hiking trails are just steps from
the Hostel door. The main building, office and bathrooms, rebuilt in
2001, showcase environmentally sustainable technology and design.
Hidden Villa is a non-smoking environment due to fire hazard.
Reservations are required on the weekends (Friday and Saturday) and

Available for overnight rentals. Josephine's Retreat is the ideal spot for
a romantic getaway or personal reflection time. It is a cozy, one room cabin which sits on a secluded sunny
hillside above Hidden Villa. You'll enjoy beautiful views and miles of walking trails just outside your door. Frank Duveneck built the cabin in 1940 for his wife Josephine who used the cabin for reflection and inspiration.
